| UPC Barcode |
A variation of the magstripe - the barcode card
contains a standard barcode that can be read by an optical reader,
the benefit of the optical reader is that it is contactless and
will last longer than a magstripe, the one huge downside is that
the card can be duplicated by photocopying it!
By far the most common method for
access control is the keypad, folllowed by the remote control,
however expect to see a surge in popularity of the biometric thumb
reader as the device of choice as the cost of the technology falls
and the read rates speed up.
